When Ramona decides the only way to escape her abusive husband is to kill him and make it look like an accident, she feels she has solved her problem. When she begins to overhear conversations from some of the people of Addison, Georgia, she realizes everyone knows it was murder but are covering it up.
At first she is glad but when she begins getting clues about what's happening in the small Georgia town, she is faced with a choice between keeping herself out of jail and saving her country.
I admit Double Shock is not in a genre that I normally read, but I thoroughly enjoyed this 1969 Georgian mystery. I struggled at first with the perspective in which it is written, but that was soon forgotten and I was really pulled into this intriguing who-dun-it (or rather who’s-behind-it) thriller.
Just when I thought I had everything figured out, the author would throw me for a loop with a twist I never saw coming. I would peg a character as a good guy or bad guy only to have the opposite revealed. This is a fun and fast read that will keep you on your toes all the way to the end!
Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of her book in exchange for my honest review.
