During the holiday season, The Sound of Music seemed to be on every channel. I loved it as a kid... or at least the first half (I always had a hard time staying awake for the ending.) The song that comes to mind whenever I think of the movie is, of course, My Favorite Things. This got me to thinking about
my favorite things, or, at least, the favorite books I read. So here is my little rendition, and apologies in advance because I'm about to ruin one of your favorite classic childhood songs:
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver, white winters that melt into springs
Nah....this is more like it:
Ghosts in white dresses with blood dripping sashes
Marauders and slayers who turn demons to ashes
Huge killer werewolves thanks to Stephen King...
These are a few of my favorite things.
Bright copper bloodstains and whiskers on hellhounds
Hot fallen angels and trackers who are
Blood Bound
Flesh eating zombies the apocalypse brings...
These are a few of my favorite things

Steampunk, necromancy, shapeshifters in action
Wide spread epidemics and Dystopian factions
A boy named after a number who makes my heart sing...
These are a few of my favorite things.

A pretty young girl who can kill with her hands
Arrogant
wolves who were once in a band
The boy with the bread who left my pulse racing...
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites. When the bee stings.
Sparkly Vampire love. The hybrid baby they’re so proud of:
These things make me sad...
but I simply remember my favorite things...
and then I don’t feeeeel sooooooo bad!!!
